Thank you very much for choosing MACHU PICCHU VIAJES PERU! To have a better experience and satisfaction with our services, we strongly recommend that you read the following information carefully:

For Reservations
To make a reservation, the company requires payment of 30 or 50% of the total cost of the tour by the client, using our authorized payment methods (Visa Mastercard, Paypal, Western Union or Bank Transfer), the remaining balance of your tour must be paid in cash or by card on the first day of your arrival in the city of Cusco, in US dollars to the staff who assist you. In order to confirm the reservation, the following information will be needed for each passenger who makes the trip: Full Name, Passport Number, Nationality, Date of Birth, Sex. It is recommended to report allergies, illnesses, passenger conditions, characteristics of each passenger, food preferences, etc. Once the prepayment has been made, our sales agent will send you an email with the confirmation of the reservation of the tourist package chosen by the client and his service contract. This email is a guarantee document for your reservation. After the client receives the confirmation, he must verify the content of the email and the service contract in detail and respond to it. If your reservation includes nights of accommodation, the confirmation of the hotels is subject to availability of spaces. If there is no space in the hotel specified in the confirmation email, the client will be given another of similar category and price. The company reserves the right to accept last-minute reservations (24 hours before the client’s arrival at the destination). In this case, the company will expressly indicate the special conditions of said reservation, which will include, if applicable, special schedules. These conditions must be mutually agreed upon with the client and will be evidenced by email.

Tours and Itineraries
Itineraries are planned with great care and attention, although, for operational reasons, it may be necessary to change the order of activities, or the specified route, and although such cases may be occasional, the itinerary in general should only be assumed as a basic guide. The company reserves the right to make, without prior notice, modifications in the order of excursions or trips, due to weather conditions, river levels, arrival or departure time of planes, buses or trains or for any other relevant reason, the same that will guarantee your safety and the best development of your trip. In the event that the activities of the itinerary suffer variations, are rescheduled at the last minute or are cancelled due to flight delays, social conflicts, bad weather, roadblocks and any other inconvenience caused by third parties, the company is not responsible for refunding money to customers, but is committed to helping the customer make modifications or rescheduling in their travel itinerary.

Changes and Modifications
In the event of a pandemic such as Covid or similar, or any other event, we are very flexible in our cancellation policies: In case something happens on your trip and for any reason you cannot come to Peru and cannot take the tour due to flight delays or cancellations, social conflicts (strikes or riots), bad weather, roadblocks, landslides and any other inconvenience caused by third parties.

You will have the option to change and move the date of your tour and itinerary to any other date in the future, without any additional tax or payment. This request to change the date or change the itinerary must be sent by email 20 days before the start of the tour. If a request for a change of date or modification in the itinerary is received 15 days before the start of the tour, it will be subject to a penalty for operating expenses of USD $ 50.00 dollars per person (Subject to availability of spaces). There is a penalty of US $ 15.00 for changes in entrances to Waynapicchu and Machu Picchu mountain (Subject to availability of spaces). Date changes at Hotels are subject to space availability and the policies of the establishment itself. Special Case Inca Trail: Please note that the Inca Trail tour and permits are non-modifiable, non-transferable and non-refundable. Dates can never be changed due to government policy of the Ministry of Culture

Cancellations
According to our experience, a certain percentage of reservations are cancelled by the client before starting their trip due to unforeseen circumstances, such as: flight delays, social conflicts (strikes or riots), bad weather, roadblocks, landslides and any other inconvenience caused by third parties.

Penalties for cancellation of services will depend on the date of cancellation according to the list below:

30 days or more before the start date of the tour: 30% of the deposit will not be refunded.
25 to 16 days before the start date of the tour: 50% of the deposit will not be refunded.
15 to 07 days before the start date of the tour: 80% of the deposit will not be refunded.
06 to 0 days before the start date of the tour: 100% of the deposit will not be refunded.
It should be understood that these penalties are applicable, because certain services such as airline tickets, train tickets, entrances to Machu Picchu, Inca Trail, hotels, etc. are purchased and reserved in advance and many of them do not have the option of cancellation or refund.

A SPECIAL NOTE REGARDING CANCELLATIONS FOR INCA TRAIL RESERVATIONS Advance payments for the different treks include Inca Trail 4 days/3 nights, Inca Trail 2 days/1 night, Inca Trail 5 days/4 nights, Salkantay and Inca Trail 7 days/6 nights. The costs of these treks are non-refundable, and include entrance fees to the Inca Trail, porters, cooks, and train tickets. This is because the services are reserved and paid for at the time the reservation is made, hence the required deposit is non-refundable.

NO SHOW We will retain the full amount and are not responsible for the client’s non-show due to flight delay or cancellation. The company is not responsible for damage to or loss of luggage, accidents, unforeseen expenses, unavoidable delays, services provided by third parties or direct causes beyond our control. In the unfortunate event of a no-show due to unforeseen causes, the company will provide a certificate to the client to process with their insurance company.

IMPORTANT NOTE: In the event that the client abandons the tour for any reason or motive, extra expenses are the responsibility of the client and the company is not responsible for any refund.
