Huayhuash Circuit 12 Days / 11 Nights – The Ultimate High-Andes Trekking Adventure

The adventure begins with a scenic drive from Huaraz to Llamac, passing through beautiful Andean villages and winding valleys. From Llamac, we start trekking toward Quartelwayin, where we set up our first camp beneath the dramatic peaks of the Huayhuash range.

We begin our ascent to Paso Qaqanan, the first high-altitude pass, offering breathtaking panoramic views. After descending through rolling highland meadows, we reach Laguna Mitucocha, a stunning glacial lake framed by jagged peaks.

We cross Paso Carhuac, a spectacular vantage point offering views of Siula Grande and the surrounding peaks. Our descent takes us to Laguna Carhuacocha, one of the most scenic campsites, where the mountains reflect in the crystal-clear water.

One of the most dramatic days of the trek! We pass three glacial lakes before reaching Paso Siula, with jaw-dropping views of Siula Grande, Yerupajá, and Jirishanca. We descend into the Huayhuash Valley, a tranquil setting surrounded by Andean peaks.

Today’s route takes us over Paso Portachuelo, where we enjoy sweeping views before descending to Viconga. Here, we have the chance to soak in natural hot springs, a perfect way to relax after days of trekking

We ascend to the highest pass of the trek, Paso Cuyoc (5,000m), where the landscapes become truly otherworldly. The descent leads us into a wild, rugged valley, where we set up camp in Campamento Elefante.

Another challenging day as we climb to Paso San Antonio, an incredible viewpoint with a panoramic view of Siula Grande and Sarapo. We descend into the remote and beautiful Cutatambo Valley, where we camp.

A well-deserved rest day! Enjoy the tranquility, explore the surroundings, or simply soak in the beauty of this remote paradise.

We trek down to the small Andean village of Huayllapa, where we get a glimpse of traditional highland life.

A long ascent takes us to Paso Tapush, offering spectacular views of the surrounding peaks. We camp in Qashpapampa, a peaceful Andean valley.

We ascend to Paso Yaucha, another breathtaking viewpoint, before descending to Laguna Jahuacocha, one of the most stunning lakes in the entire trek.

On our final trekking day, we cross Paso Pampa Llamac before making our way back to Llamac, where we take our transport back to Huaraz, marking the end of an unforgettable adventure.
