Yachtfahrt bei Sonnenuntergang auf dem Pazifik

Eine private Yacht, die Sonne, die über den Klippen von Miraflores versinkt, und die Stadt, die sich vor dem Meer erleuchtet.

Lima is a city built with its back to the ocean. Almost all its visitors know it from the land, looking inward. From the water, at the hour when the sun touches the horizon, the city turns around and shows itself as almost no one sees it.

This private cruise leaves from a private pier and heads out to open sea as the light begins to turn gold. It is not a boat ride: it is a way of seeing Lima from the very place to which it turns its back.

A City on the Cliff Edge

Much of modern Lima stretches across a plateau that drops to the Pacific in cliffs, and Miraflores is the district that shows them best: buildings, parks and paths at the edge of the void, with the sea far below. From land, the ocean is always seen from above; from the water, the city is seen from below, and the perspective changes completely.

The sea that washes this coast is the Humboldt Current, cold and rich in life, the same one that explains much of Lima's character: the grey winters, the mist that covers the horizon for months, and the abundance of fish that feeds its cuisine.

The Golden Hour

The yacht casts off when the golden light begins to tint the cliffs. That stretch of coast, seen from below, changes colour almost minute by minute, and it is the first reason to be on the water at this hour and not earlier.

On board, the sun disappears beneath the Pacific horizon. As the light falls, the city skyline lights up against the sea, like a modern canvas against the darkness of the water: the ancient ocean and the new city in the same frame.

On Board

The cruise is accompanied by a selection of exclusive labels, chosen in advance according to our guests' taste; non-alcoholic alternatives are prepared with the same care. The pace is that of the sunset: no programme and no hurry.

When It Works Best

The clearest sunsets come in summer, from December to April. In the winter months, coastal mist often covers the horizon and the sun is lost before it touches the sea. That is why the experience depends on the weather of each day. The hour of sunset also changes with the season: it falls roughly between half past five and half past six in the evening.

What Kada Arranges

The yacht is private and departs from a private pier. We coordinate the departure time according to the day and the season, so that the light on the cliffs coincides with setting out. We arrange the drinks selection and each guest's restrictions in advance.

We weave it into the Lima itinerary as the close of a day, not as one more activity: after a day of visits, the sea offers the opposite of what the city offered, which is distance.

Expert Insight

"Lima can be understood in two ways: by walking it and by looking at it from the sea. Almost no one does the second. At sunset, with the cliffs lit up and the city still without lights, you understand why Limeños always return to this coast. It is the hour when the Pacific stops being a boundary and becomes a place."

A Practical Note

We recommend a light layer: on the water, even in summer, it cools as the sun goes down. We share the boarding point and the confirmed departure time in advance.

Because the cruise depends on each day's weather, the booking is coordinated with flexibility, above all during the winter months, when coastal mist is more frequent.
