The Abode
In Quechua, puqio means the spring that rises from the earth. The hotel honours its name: set in Tuti, at 3,800 metres above the Colca valley, it draws from natural spring water and is built in traditional technique — adobe, volcanic stone, ichu-grass roofs — reinterpreted for contemporary comfort. It is the youngest of our Colca selection and also the most intimate: only sixteen casitas, each looking out onto the Hualca Hualca volcano.
The casitas with direct views of the volcano are the first to choose; for longer stays, the larger suites, with private terrace and fireplace. The kitchen works alongside the community of Tuti — part of the lodge's founding philosophy — and offers a short menu that shifts with the day's produce: native quinoa, Colca trout, shepherd's lamb, Andean herbs. Daybreak breakfasts above the canyon are, on their own, half the experience.
