The Abode
Thirty-four round casitas scattered through a two-hectare botanical garden, surrounded by Peruvian paso horses and a contemporary art collection that could easily stand as a museum. Sol y Luna is the Sacred Valley's only Relais & Châteaux, the product of a Franco-Swiss couple's stubborn vision: the hotel is, in fact, a foundation, and its profits support the eponymous school and community work. Here, eccentricity is a form of integrity.
The Honeymoon Casitas, with private jacuzzi and interior garden, are the most sought-after; for families, the Premium Casitas with two rooms and shared sitting area. The restaurant Killa Wasi works with local produce on a menu that changes daily — the chef visits the garden before service. Dawn rides on paso horses are part of the ritual; breakfast, beside the wood-fired oven, is a ritual in itself.
