Peru has a geography and tourist infrastructure permitting anniversary, birthday and important-moment celebrations with irreplaceable settings —inside an Inca archaeological site, above an Ica vineyard, in a transparent capsule above the Urubamba canyon. This guide describes five premium experiences specifically designed for celebrating.

Vow renewal at Machu Picchu

The Belmond Sanctuary Lodge coordinates, through Ministry of Culture permit, vow-renewal ceremonies in ceremonial sectors of the Machu Picchu sanctuary. The ceremony is held at dawn (before public opening) or sunset (after closing), with Andean paqo officiating traditional ceremony, professional photographer, Andean-flower bouquet, and selected witnesses (can be family or hotel team).

The ceremony integrates Andean elements (despacho to Pachamama, coca leaves, flower petals) with Western tradition (vow exchange, optional ring). Lasts 45-60 minutes. Afterwards, breakfast or private dinner at the Sanctuary Lodge restaurant with view of the lit site.

Cost: USD 4,500-6,500 per couple (includes permit, paqo, photographer, flowers, ceremony and meal afterwards). Four to six-month reservation. Sanctuary Lodge guests only.

Private dinner at huaca

Mentioned in our exclusive-dinners and private Machu Picchu experience guides. The private dinner at Saqsayhuamán is the most extraordinary option for anniversary or birthday without budget restriction. Table for 2 with torches, Belmond Monasterio chef, signature five-to-seven-course tasting menu, live Andean music (charango, quena, zampoña), and personalised butler service.

For anniversary, the chef can prepare a dedicated dish with initials or date. For birthday, dessert with candle and happy birthday sung by the Andean-music team. Cost: USD 1,500-2,800 per couple. Four to six-month reservation.

Couple's shamanic ceremony

Doña Bernardina Apaza, mentioned in our textile and shamanic ceremonies guides, offers special couple's shamanic ceremony at her home-studio in Patabamba. Three-hour ceremony combining despacho to Pachamama (gratitude offering for the relationship) with coca sahumerio (energetic cleansing for new cycle) and coca reading (consultation about couple's future).

The ceremony is intimate —only the couple and master Bernardina. It is held at dawn at the open-air ceremonial table with mountain view. The couple actively participates, making their own offering with specific intention for the celebration.

Cost: USD 580-850 per couple. Three-week reservation. Recommended for couples valuing spiritual over gastronomic.

Private dinner table at archaeological site
Private dinners at huacas combine Ministry permit with associated-hotel chef —they are Peru's most exclusive experiences.

Night in transparent capsule

The Sky Lodge Adventure Suites transparent capsules, mentioned in our astrotourism guide, are Peru's most unique romantic experience. A glass capsule hanging on the Urubamba canyon wall, with transparent roof to see stars from bed. Dinner is served in the capsule itself —operator's chef prepares Peruvian menu, wine and pisco included.

For anniversary or birthday, the operator prepares the capsule with flowers, themed decoration, and personalisation (couple's signature on the outer wall with permanent marker, professional photo at dawn). Single night.

Cost: USD 1,500-2,200 per couple, one night. Three-month reservation. Only people in good physical condition to climb 400 metres by via ferrata or zipline.

Dinner at Ica vineyard

The private dinner at Hacienda La Caravedo vineyard in Ica, mentioned in our pisco and exclusive-dinners guides, is the option for couples who prefer coast over highlands. Table for 2 between rows of quebranta grape, kerosene-lantern lighting, outdoor Peruvian grill, Peruvian wines and mosto verde pisco.

For celebration, the operator adds dedicated menu with signature dish, fresh-grape bouquet as decoration, and private mosto-verde pisco tasting with sommelier (Johnny Schuler when available). Cost: USD 580-850 per couple. Two-week reservation.

Comparison by moment

For important anniversary (10, 25, 50 years): vow renewal at Machu Picchu.

For exclusive celebration without restriction: dinner at Saqsayhuamán.

For spiritual couples: shamanic ceremony with Doña Bernardina.

For unique irreplicable experience: night in transparent capsule.

For coastal gastronomic romance: dinner at La Caravedo vineyard.

What matters beyond cost

Integration with the trip: experiences combine with standard Peru itineraries. Vow renewal happens at the end of the Cusco-Machu Picchu block. Dinner at Saqsayhuamán at start or close of the Cusco block. Dinner at vineyard during Ica visit.

Photography: all premium experiences include optional professional photographer (USD 380-680 per session). For important celebrations, we always recommend including professional photography.

Personalisation: operators accept personalisation (specific message, dedicated dish, music chosen by the couple). Notify at least one month before the celebration.

A private celebration in Peru is not just event. It is the integration of landscape, history and Andean tradition with a personal moment. The difference from celebrating in any other place in the world is the depth of the setting.

How they are booked

The five experiences require three to six-month coordination. For our travellers, they are arranged as part of the honeymoon, anniversary or celebration package with complete logistical coordination: lodging, transfers, permits, photography, personalisation.

Peru offers these celebrations with a level of exclusivity and depth few countries match. For couples celebrating important moments, the trip to Peru is not just trip —it is the celebration itself.
